How to turn off WordPress User Toolbar

Over the past year, I have actually found this WordPress Toolbar to be one of my all time favorite WordPress tools. However, in my office, not everyone agrees with me. Thankfully, the WordPress  Toolbar can be controlled by the user id.

The Problem

You have an annoying grey toolbar at the top of your WordPress website or WordPress blog when you look at it. You want to turn it off but you are not sure how?

WordPress Toolbar Tips

Note: Before you turn off the toolbar do know that it has some wonderful uses. It is annoying at first but I encourage you to explore it a bit before you automatically shut it down.

The Solution

In this video I show you how to turn off the WordPress Toolbar at the top of your site. Alternate solution is to open up your blog in another browser that you are not logged into your blog on.

The Tips

  • Only people who are logged into your blog will see the WordPress toolbar.
  • The toolbar is handy for editing a specific page or post. It will save you from having to hunt for the post under recent posts.
  • Go to the post or page that you want to edit (on the front side of your site).
  • Click on edit post in the toolbar.
  • You will be taken directly to that post in the backend of WordPress.
