So What Is The Pattern To Success?

“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”

Robert F. Kennedy

There is a beauty in failure. We think that it sucks.

Of course it sucks.

But there is also a beauty in it. There is a freedom in it. There is hope in failure.

Failure is a point of learning what not to do. Failure allows us the freedom to recreate ourselves. Failure allows us to keep trying.

Yes, of course failure can also be our reason for giving up but that isn't who you are. That's not who I am. If you believed that you couldn't achieve then you wouldn't be here consuming. You believe in yourself even if you notice that your are failing.

There have been moments when I look at someone successful and almost feel sad for them. No, I don't feel sad for their success. That success is friggin awesome. Hell, I am envious of their success. But I do sometimes wonder if they feel trapped. I just really hope that they enjoy the thing that they are succeeding with.

We always hear that the journey is the reward or some version of that saying. Once you have found your point of success, what then?

Of course, this may all be bullshit because I am not successful yet.

Wait! Back Up!

I am not as successful as I think that I should be at this point. Sure, I have had some success and am having more as time passes. It isn't enough though. I am not reaching my goals.

Wait. Back Up Once More!

I am not reaching all of my goals but I have reached some of them. Remember to acknowledge the wins along the way.

There are moments just like earlier today when I feel sorry for myself about this fact. Then once I get past that, I see the beauty in the moment.

I get to keep evolving and growing and tweaking and changing. Can you relate?

So I am currently at one of these moments of evolution. More about that in the next episode though.

This morning Andi told me to fail faster. She brought up that we heard this once in the past. It it is true. Successful people didn't just wake up one day and find success. They tried over and over and over and over.

They failed. They tried something else. They had a bit of success but not enough. So they tried again.

So what is the pattern to success?

Try. Fail. Try. Fail. Get faster at trying. Fail faster. Try faster. Fail faster. Whoa wait for it…success

Right now, I am admitting it. I am owning this moment. I am excited about the future.

If you don't feel like you are there yet or that your blog isn't what you wish that it was, just ask yourself one question.

Are you risking enough?

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far it is possible to go."

T.S. Eliot
