In this podcast we are we are going to get down to it with a conversation about 42 Quick Social Media Tips part 3 and then going to discuss a quick thought for the day.

Now let’s get down to it with a conversation about Social Media Marketing

Quite a while back now, I sat down to write as many social media tips as I could think of in a single sitting. I complied the list into 42 tips because well, why not. In the next few podcasts we are going to go thru the list together and see if I still believe these tips are true today and what I think about them. Keep in mind that I did not edit this list in advance of this podcast so this is a journey for both of us.

Blogs:

  1. Blog at least weekly.
  2. Whatever blogging frequency you start, you must stay consistent.
  3. If you consider yourself a serious blog, host your own blog on your own URL.
  4. Keep your blogs short between 400-700 words.
  5. Start a blog post with a good picture.
  6. Comment on other blogs in your industry.
  7. Embed your YouTube videos in your blog posts.
  8. SEO each and every blog post.
  9. Add social media sharing buttons to the bottom of your posts.

Writers Tips

Ok so I am trying to become a better writer right now. Let me be even more clear, I am trying to increase my vocabulary. It seems to me that my vocabulary has become quite small. Personally, I believe this is partially because I was not well read as a child and also because I am often in a hurry. Is it possible that texting is also part of my vocab problem?

Anways, in my personal research a.k.a. Googling I found this quote and it made me laugh out loud.

If you have any young friends who aspire to become writers, the second greatest favor you can do them is to present them with copies of The Elements of Style. The first greatest, of course, is to shoot them now, while they’re happy. – Dorothy Parker

I loved this quote and it made me think about bloggers. Blogging is fun. It is a blast. However, once you make a commitment to it, it is just like anything else and it becomes work.

If you listened to the previous podcast you got a good solid idea of how much I love television. There are times when I have much rather watch the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy or even an old episode then actually format a blog post. So maybe, just maybe sometimes this quote also applies to a blogger.

I mean think about it, even if you love writing, you may not love formatting. If you love formatting you may not love the fact that you don’t have ten thousand readers a day. No matter what blogging is always a labor of love and with that I say blog on!
